Yuvakshetra basketball team emerged victoriously in the C Zone Basketball Championship of Calicut University that was held on 01/09/2018, Monday in the Yuvakshetra campus, Mundur. In an exciting final of the event, which witnessed the participation of various teams from the different colleges in Palakkad district, the team Yuvakshetra defeated NSS College, Nenmara by 28 points (Score 85-57). The C Zone Championship was inaugurated by Mr. P. G. Dileep, C Zone convenor, Calicut University. Dr. Tomy Antony, Principal, YIMS presided over the function. It has been the second consecutive championship victory of the Yuvakshetra basketball team in C Zone competitions. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Vazhayil, Director, YIMS. Mr. Santhilal, former volleyball player, gave away the prizes and congratulated the winners. The event was, indeed, a great success, thanks to the executive leadership of Mr. Mithun, Asst. Professor, Rev. Fr. Jaison Chothirakkottu, Asst. Director, Rev. Fr. Lalu Olikkal, Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Shaju Angeveetil, Bursar, V. Radhika, Asst. Professor, and Tony Sebastian, College Union Chairman.
