The Department of Psychology, Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies hosted a webinar on ‘World Mental Health Day ‘ on the topic “Psychology for Mental Health”.The webinar was equipped to make students gain knowledge on mental health. Mr Jith George (HOD. Dept of Psychology) , Sannet Thomas ( Programme coordinator) Ms Athira PV (Assistant coordinator) Ms Rithvika Ramal ( student coordinator) monitored the event .
The programme was handled by Nayana Anoop (3rd B.sc psychology). It started at 11 am with a brief introduction by the host and prayer by Shamila (2nd B.sc psychology). The gathering was officially welcomed by Mr Sannet Thomas (Assistant Professor & Programme coordinator). The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Mathew George Vazhayil(Director, Yuvakshetra institute of management studies) .
The session was officially inaugurated by our resource person followed by a 4 minute video based on importance of mental health prepared by the students of 3rd bsc psychology. Following the video, Presidential address was delivered by Rev. Dr . Lalu Olikkal ( Vice principal, YIMS) and Mr . Jith George ( HOD ,Dept. of Psychology,YIMS).
At 11:30 the session started which was conducted by Dr . Shibu K , Associate professor and HOD Palayam, University College.The session concluded around 1 p.m . After the doubt clearing session the vote of thanks was presented by Rithvika Ramal . The event was a huge success and was very informative.
