As world environment day was observed on June 5 all over the country with various programmes, Yuvakshetra college once again proved its commitment to protect the nature and environment by organizing activities focussed on inculcating environmental awareness among young Yuvakshetrians. In the morning assembly, first of its kind in the new academic year, held at the renovated Central Square at Christ Hill Block Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Vazhayil delivered the environmental day message by pinpointing the importance to reduce the use of plastics and to make the campus a plastic free zone. Being one of the best eco friendly green campus in Calicut University, Yuvakshetra college is always there to promote environmental protection activities. On the same day, tree saplings were planted in the college campus as well as on the road sides in front of the campus. Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Vazhayil, the director, Dr. Tomy Antony, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Lalu Olikkal, the Vice Principal, Heads of Various Departments, Faculties and students- all became part of the environmental day celebration organized by the Department of Geography and Green Fan Club.
