Workshop on Mathematical Analysis using MATLAB- Department of Mathematics
One day webinar on the topic “Workshop on Mathematical Analysis using MATLAB” was conducted for the students of the Department of Mathematics, YIMS, students and faculties from St. Mary’s College Puthanangadi, and S N College Alathur as part of capacity building and skill enhancement programme. The programme was conducted on 7h September 2021 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The chief guest and the resource person was Ms. S Priyadharsini, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Sri Krishna College, Coimbatore. The programme
started at 10.30 am with a prayer. Ms. Shilpa S, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics delivered the welcome speech. Prof. T K Rajan, HoD, Mathematics, presided the function Rev Dr. Mathew George Vazhayil, Director, YIMS, inaugurated the session. The vote of thanks was expressed by Ms. Steeja I F, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics. MATLAB is a popular language for numerical computation. The session mainly focused on the basis of computational techniques explained through various coding examples and problems. Practical ways to use MATLAB was also discussed. Through this session students get introduced to MATLAB programming, and its use for scientific computations. Hence students got the opportunity and knowledge to develop and strengthen the skills to gain, maintain, and advance in mathematical software like MATLAB. The resource person explained the topic with simple examples.The session was really informative and very useful to the student. 80 participants
benefited from the session. The session wound up by 12.30 pm.
