Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies conducts its college elections annually, following the Parliamentary system as mandated by the University of Calicut. The college authorities ensure a fair and transparent process, closely monitored by staff members. All students on campus are eligible to vote, and the University declares the dates for filing nominations and the election day. The elected body, known as the College Union, comprises nine members: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Student Editor, two University Union Councilors, Arts Secretary, General Captain for Sports, and representatives for each degree batch and PG course. Notably, the Vice-Chairperson and Joint Secretary posts are reserved for girls, while the two University Union Councilors represent the college at the University level.

A faculty member is nominated by the College Council as a staff advisor to guide the activities of the Student Council. The activities of the Student Council commence soon after the oath-taking ceremony and inauguration of the College Union. The Council organizes various events, including Union Day, College Day, and club inaugurations. Additionally, student representatives lead clubs, associations, and fora, as well as the Women Cell’s executive committee. The College Union plays an active role in social service programs and represents student concerns in the college council. The staff advisor participates in official college functions, offering felicitations on behalf of the Council. Furthermore, the Council identifies and trains talented students for intercollegiate competitions and events. The editorial board, comprising teachers from the Language Department and a student Editor, publishes the College Magazine annually, showcasing the college’s achievements and creative endeavors.
