It has been an extraordinary and remarkable day, 22nd of August, 2023, for Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies (YIMS), as it signed its First International Memorandum of Understanding (Virtual Mode) with the esteemed Cagayan State University (CSU), Phililippines. University President Respected Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado representing CSU and Principal Adv. Dr. Tomy Antony, representing YIMS signed the MOU. This MOU was an offshoot of the new heights of internationalization and excellence in higher education that YIMS aspires to achieve in the years to come. While addressing on the occasion, Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado said that “with Philippines and India harnessing the rich traditions and practices, there will surely be a lot of similarities and differences in culture and academics that will be great points for learning in cultural understanding towards a better higher education in Asia region.”
Rev. Dr. Mathew Vazhayil, the Director of YIMS, while addressing the audience, shared his dreams of international collaboration, especially with CSU in various education and research activities, both for the faculty and the students, exchange of publications and information, innovation and sharing of best practices. The main areas of collaboration will be education and research, faculty and student training, exchange of academicians and researchers, exchange of faculties and students, exchange of scholarly materials and information, invitation to conferences, colloquiums, and other analogous activities. From the part of CSU, Dr. Theresa B. Dimalanta, CSU Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization, and Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, CSU Vice President for Academic Affairs and from the part of YIMS Dr. M. Ramachandran, Convenor, External Affairs, HOD, PG Department of Geography of YIMS, and Prof. Shylaja Menon, Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, signed as the witnesses of MoU. The benign presence of Rev. Dr. Joseph Olikkalkoonal, Vice Principal & Coordinator, Calicut University CBCSS for YIMS, Rev. Dr. Lino Emmatty, Assistant Director, Rev. Dr. Gimmi Antony CST, Focal Person, Domestic and International Collaboration, the HoDs of various Departments etc made the event of virtual MoU singing so enriching.
