REPORT
An inaugural ceremony of the Literary club activities was organized on December 2, 2020 on virtual platforms viz., Google meet and YouTube (live). All literature students were a part of the elucidative program. The chief guest for the day was Ms. Beena Govind, a Writer, Journalist, Sub Editor of Mathrubhumi and founder Secretary of Devashrayam Charitable Trust. The event started with a prayer song by Harsha Surendran of II BSc Psychology. Ms. Grace Aganice V, President of the club welcomed the dignitaries and all the participants to the programme. Rajagopalan B, Secretary of Literaria Insignia, presented the report of the previous year contributions. He acknowledged the contributors of two of its major publications – an anthology “Advent of Collegium” and “We @ 20”. Thereafter the Principal of the college Dr. Tomy Antony presided the meeting. He appreciated the efforts of the club and its leaders. He in his presidential address threw light on the importance of clubs in colleges.
The event was followed by a profile presentation of the chief guest, Ms. Beena Govind, by Arathy Varier of II BA English. Thereafter, the chief guest inaugurated the event with much zeal and pomposity. This followed her expository speech. An interactive session ignited the inquisitiveness of participants.
Rev Fr. Shyju Pariyath, Asst. Director of YIMS, in his keynote address wished all the club members to consider this as a platform to exhibit their talents and skills.in literature. This was followed by a felicitation speech by Rev Dr. Lalu Olikkal, Vice Principal, YIMS. He spoke on the requisiteness of a literary club and its nuances. Ms Samitha Manoj of II BSc Physics, proposed the vote of thanks. The inaugural ceremony culminated with the national anthem by Harsha Surendran. Mr Sreekumar S and Ms Divya M K, the Malayalam and Hindi language coordinators of the club were part of the ceremony. The I BA literature students and all the faculties of the college were present in the Google meet platform and others witnessed the ceremony through YouTube live.
