On 19th December 2019, the Department of Psychology organized the Inaugural function of the Psychology Association which was held in Sophia Theater. The programme was attended by the students of the Psychology Department, Yuvakshetra Institute of Management studies. The programme was titled as “METANOIA 2K19”. Mr. Abdul Salam. K, Associate Professor and HOD, Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (IMHANS), Kozhikode was the chief guest and keynote speaker of the event.
The programme commenced by 9:45 AM with a graceful welcome dance by Ms. Harsha and team (I B.Sc Psychology). Mr. Jith George, HOD, department of Psychology gave the welcome speech followed by the Presidential address delivered by Dr. Tomy Antony (Principal, YIMS). The lamp lighting ceremony was conducted and Chief Guest delivered the inaugural address. The annual association report was presented by Mr. Jithin Francis (Association Secretary). Felicitation was rendered by Rev, Dr Lalu Olikkal (Vice Principal, YIMS).
Following a 15 min break after the official inaugural ceremony, the resource person Mr. Abdul Salam K. conducted a session on the topic “Psychoanalysis”. The session was extremely beneficial and interesting to the participants. The session explored on various aspects of Psychoanalysis which is one of the most prominent approach in Psychology. The session was concluded by 1:15 PM. After a lunch break the entire programme was wrapped off with cultural programmes by students from the department
