An impressive Valedictory function was held at the Symphony Auditorium to mark the winding up of the Add-on Courses held on Saturdays during the current academic year. Ms. Sharon Stanley, student of I BA English was the anchor of the programme which was organized on Saturday, 11 February, 2017.
After the prayer, the Vice Principal of YIMS, Rev.Fr.Dr.Lalu Olikkal spoke about the history and spread of Add-on Courses while delivering the Welcome Address.
Mr.Sasidharan Uppath, coordinator of Add-on courses addressed the audience. A crisp, but comprehensive report prepared by Sri Sasidharan Uppath and shot on video by Mr.Sujith.P.V and Mr.Girish, the technical staff of YIMS about the Add-on courses, was shown to the audience. The Video also contained clips of eminent people who had visited the college on various occasions in the past.
The Director of YIMS, Rev.Fr.Cheriyan Anjilimoottil stressed upon the need, execution and further planning of Add-on courses.
The lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on stage symbolized the inauguration of the valedictory function.The chief guest of the function, Mr.Abdul Majeed.T.A, Registrar of Calicut University informed/reminded the gathering that the university also runs a number of Add-on courses that are useful to students and staffs including rare ones like Neuro-Linguistic programming
