The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, aimed at fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within higher educational institutions. Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies, Palakkad, in collaboration with the MoE, has established the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) to inspire, support, and mentor students in developing innovative ideas and solutions, thereby creating a thriving ecosystem for innovation on campus.
Major Focus of IIC
- Establishing a vibrant innovation ecosystem within the institution.
- Facilitating start-up and entrepreneurship support mechanisms in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
- Preparing the institute for the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) framework.
- Providing pre-incubation support and mentorship for ideation and innovation.
- Encouraging and boosting critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students.
Functions of Institution’s Innovation Council
- Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship through structured initiatives.
- Conducting innovation-related activities as per MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) guidelines.
- Raising awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and providing patenting support.
- Facilitating internships aligned with innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Recognizing and showcasing outstanding student innovations.
- Hosting workshops, seminars, and networking events with industry professionals.
- Collaborating with institutions and entrepreneurship organizations for knowledge sharing.
