Live International Webinar conducted on 8th & 9th September 2020 by the Department of Hotel Management. The session was focused on Seafood by Celebrity Chef Tor Emil Sivertsen and Chef Midhun Nair from Norway. The session was conducted in Google meet platform and 180 students participated in it.
On the first day, the session began with welcome message from our Principal Dr.Tomy Antony. Sir welcomed the guests Chef Tor Emil Sivertsen and Chef Midhun Nair who was also an Alumni of Yuvakehetra in the year 2010. Both the Chefs gave a short introduction and began the session.
Chef Tor and Chef Midhun demonstrated live Spider Crabs and explained the de-shelling the process of it. All the parts were clearly explained, the process of cooking the crab meat, their preservation methods etc were explained to the students by the Chefs.
On the second day, the live webinar session began with welcome message in Italian language from our Vice Principal Dr.Lalu Olikkal. The cooking process of crab meat and Cod Fish were explained and demonstrated to our students. Chef Midhun explained about the local ingredients used in their restaurants. Then they demonstrated the plating of their preparation.
Our Students asked various questions and their doubts were clarified by both the Chefs. The session was wound up with vote of thanks from Chef Vinod M.R
Feedback forms were circulated among the students via e-mail and e-certificates were offered to all the participants.
