B.A. English – Stands for Bachelor of Arts in English. It’s a 3 year degree course in semester pattern and each semester consists of six months. The Bachelor programme is designed for those students who have a wide range of career goals and objectives. It is aimed to produce men and women who wish to communicate effectively and think deeply as well as creatively about the ideas that have shaped and continue to shape our world. The programme is specially crafted to enable students to explore writing and speech in a wide range of forms and develop their skills in the interpretation of literary and non literary texts. Our mission is to challenge students to go beyond the conventional patterns of academic mediocrity.

You will study a range of literature, from classics to modern novels, and poetry. Understanding their implied meanings is part of the territory. Similes, metaphors and interpretations will be part of the course. If you don’t enjoy reading, you will face a tough time. Your writing skills and reading of literature will widen your perspectives as you do the course Apart from the jobs listed, students of English can also find jobs as independent literary critics or as freelance writers and authors.
